INFANT CARE

Six Weeks to 12 Months

At La Maternelle de Park Slope, infant care is much more than supervision. We create a warm, responsive environment that keeps babies safe, happy, and engaged. Care is personalized around each infant’s individual schedule, feeding needs, routines, and developmental stage.

Our infant curriculum supports early social, language, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through nurturing interactions and age-appropriate sensory experiences. Teachers extend each child’s learning through conversation, music, movement, tummy time, and exploration.

TODDLER CARE

12 to 36 Months

Toddlers experience rapid growth in language, movement, independence, and social awareness. Our teachers support these milestones with patient guidance, rich conversation, songs, stories, and opportunities to make choices throughout the day.

Our curriculum is based on the belief that children learn best through active, engaging sensory experiences. Walking, climbing, exploring, and hands-on play help toddlers build confidence and develop their unique skills, interests, and strengths. We provide a welcoming, age-appropriate environment that encourages discovery while supporting each child’s growing independence.

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

Four Years and Above

We help children build positive learning habits, understand and express emotions, develop empathy, collaborate with others, and gain confidence speaking in front of a group.

Through French, arts and crafts, yoga, dance, outdoor play, games, music, movement, and physical activity, children strengthen teamwork, self-esteem, creativity, and social skills in a fun, supportive setting.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Birthdays are meaningful moments in a child’s life. Families may help plan a simple, age-appropriate classroom celebration, such as making and decorating birthday hats, leading a special activity, or bringing approved supplies. Please contact us in advance so we can coordinate a safe and joyful celebration.
